(a)

The purpose of this chapter is to authorize the abatement of fire hazardous weeds and rubbish in the town of Cayucos as a component of fire protection service provided by the county fire department. The abatement of fire hazardous weeds and rubbish has historically been implemented in Cayucos by the predecessor fire protection agency, Cayucos Fire Protection District. The district adopted Ordinance No. 78-1 directing that weed abatement billings be collected on the county general tax roll. The county desires to implement this same component of fire protection and billing collection to further protect the lands and structures within Cayucos.
