Title 27. GENERAL HOSPITAL  

The People of the County of San Luis Obispo, ordain as follows:

PART 1: INTENT OF INITIATIVE.

The intent of this initiative is to establish San Luis Obispo General Hospital by ordinance to ensure that the people of San Luis Obispo County shall have the right to approve by vote any closure, sale or lease of San Luis Obispo General Hospital, hereafter referred to as General Hospital.

To the extent permissible by law, it is the intent of the electorate that the provisions of this ordinance be retroactive to January 5, 1996.

PART 2: NULLIFICATION OF CLOSURE, SALE OR LEASE OR OTHER ACTIONS WHILE ORDINANCE PENDING.

Any closure, lease, sale or transfer in any way of the management of General Hospital which occurs after the date of filing of the notion of intent to circulate the petition for this ordinance shall be null and void on the date this ordinance goes into effect.

PART 3: SAN LUIS OBISPO GENERAL HOSPITAL ORDINANCE.

This ordinance shall enact Chapter 27, or next in order, of the Code of the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, and shall read as follows in Articles I and II.
