§ 2.18.040. Duties of director of public works and transportation.

  • The director of public works and transportation shall be responsible for general supervision of the functions of county surveyor, and shall be responsible to the county administrator and board of supervisors for administration of the following functions:

    (1)

    All duties which were, or may hereafter be established for the former position of road commissioner as prescribed in the Streets and Highways Code or other state laws;

    (2)

    General supervision of the duties of surveyor as prescribed in Government Code Section 27550 et seq.;

    (3)

    General direction and supervision of the activities of the San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District;

    (4)

    All duties of the county director of transportation pursuant to Sections 65084 and 65085 of the Government Code;

    (5)

    Plan, organize, and direct activities related to building and facilities maintenance and architectural services; and

    (6)

    Such other functions as may, from time to time, be directed by the board of supervisors, including administration of special districts, and county franchises.
