All persons in the county service holding positions in the classified service as established
by the ordinance codified herein or any earlier ordinance and who have been in such
service for the six months next preceding June 22, 1964, shall hold their positions
until discharged, reduced, promoted, resigned, suspended, transferred or terminated
in accordance with the provisions hereof.
