"Canvasser" or "solicitor" means any person, whether a resident of the county or not,
traveling by foot or any other type of conveyance from place to place, from house
to house, or from street to street, for the purpose of rendering services immediately
or in the future, or for the purpose of taking or attempting to take orders for the
sale of goods, wares, merchandise, or personal property of any nature whatsoever for
immediate or future delivery. This definition includes any person who, individually,
for another person or corporation hires, leases, uses, or occupies any building, structure,
vehicle, or other place within the county for the sole purpose of exhibiting samples
and taking orders for immediate or future delivery. A "canvasser" or "solicitor" also
includes any individual who initiates contact in any manner to attend a gathering
of any kind, for the purpose of presenting merchandise, products, or services in the
home.
