§ 8.20.050. Regulations.

  • It is unlawful within the unincorporated portion of San Luis Obispo County for any person to do any of the following:

    (1)

    Use any orchard or citrus grove heater which produces unconsumed solid carbonaceous matter at the rate of more than one gram per minute;

    (2)

    Use open fires for orchard or citrus grove heating;

    (3)

    Use rubber tires or any rubber products in any combustion process in connection with any orchard or citrus grove heating;

    (4)

    Use or operate for the purpose of giving protection from frost damage the commonly known or designated types of orchard or citrus grove heating equipment as follows:

    a.

    Garbage pail,

    b.

    Smith Evans,

    c.

    Citrus with Olsen Stack,

    d.

    Canco five gallon,

    e.

    Dunn,

    f.

    Hamilton Bread Pan,

    g.

    Wheeling,

    h.

    Canco three gallon,

    i.

    Chinn,

    j.

    Baby Cone,

    k.

    Citrus Regular,

    l.

    Stub Stack,

    m.

    Citrus fifteen-inch stack,

    n.

    Exchange Model five and one-half-inch diameter stack

    o.

    Exchange Model six-inch diameter stack,

    p.

    Hy-Lo Drum,

    q.

    Hy-Lo Hot Blast,

    r.

    Pheysey Beacon;

    (5)

    Use or operate for the purpose of giving protection from frost damage the commonly known or designated types of orchard or citrus grove heating equipment as follows:

    f. National Double 0.802 (equivalent to one hole of 7/8 inch diameter and one hole of ½ inch diameter)
    g. Surplus Chemical
    Warfare Service
    Smoke Generator
    0.802 (equivalent to one hole of 7/8 inch diameter and one hole of ½ inch diameter)

     

    unless the primary air orifice(s) contained therein are not more than the maximum area designated above in this subdivision (5);

    (6)

    Use or operate for the purpose of giving protection from frost damage the commonly known or designated types of orchard or citrus grove heating equipment as follows:

    f. National Junior 1.212 (equivalent to two holes of 7/8 inch diameter)

     

    unless the primary air orifice(s) thereof is (are) adjusted or regulated to a maximum opening of not greater than the area designated above in this subdivision (6);

    (7)

    Use any new complete orchard or citrus grove heating equipment of the distilling type not listed above in subdivisions (5) and (6) unless the equipment contains a primary air orifice of such design that not more than one gram per minute of unconsumed solid carbonaceous matter is emitted.
